Ask the Specialists

Ask the Specialists

A night to remember took place on Wednesday 30th March, when Dentex held our inaugral “Ask the Specialists” event.

In the library of the Royal College of Surgeons, wine and conversation were flowing. Across the room people sampled canapes and an impressive array of cheeses, selected to pair beautifully with the evening’s refreshments. The snippets of conversation that could be heard above the general chatter and laughter varied from clinical cases to career aspirations to holiday plans.

Those present included Dentex specialists, clinicians and members of partner support, as well as clinicians from outside of the community looking to refer into us and/or join Dentex. The night was all about nurturing connections and building long-term relationships.

The evening highlighted the skills, knowledge and experience held by those in the Dentex community. Our specialists were made distinct through their gold lanyards, easily identifying them to colleagues and referring dentists. All attendees were provided with biodegradable lanyards when they arrived, with their name on one side (important if you miss a name and feel too awkward to ask again – we’ve all been there) and a QR code taking people to the dedicated Specialists webpage on the other.

Asking about the advantages of the evening, it was clear those within the room saw the value of meeting, chatting in person and building relationships with specialists they were considering referring to. When questioned on what made them attend, one of Dentex’s specialists was quick to point out another benefit from her perspective. For those of her patients who self-refer, it is key to have a selection of trusted general dentists she can confidently recommend, and evenings such the “Ask the Specialists” event are invaluable in making those connections.

“Community” was the word of the night, and at Dentex that is one of our proudest achievements. To have built a community of clinicians, practice teams and support staff who learn from one another and strive to provide our patients with exceptional care.
