With all the legislation we have to implement into our practice, due to the CQC, we reached a point where we didn’t have the manpower to properly manage the practice. My wife and I were doing the jobs of, say, seven people – and then there’s the dentistry as well.
It had got to a point where we could not take the vision of the practice any further. This is why I joined Dentex.
We try to excel and try to deliver really great clinical standards but we are also open-minded. We’re not set in our ways and you’ve got to be fluid – the way we used to do it may not always be the way we should be doing things.
I’m always looking at the new advancements in dentistry – such as the laser, for example, and I have the Cerec machine that makes crowns whilst you wait. I’m always seeking that advancement where we can do amazing things to our patients benefits and we can do that together with Dentex.
We learn from each other but still maintain our individuality – although the ethos is the same.
If I hadn’t joined Dentex, I’d be struggling. I think we’d hit that ceiling for promoting our practice, for getting new patients, for the CQC requirements – and at times we felt we were running backwards.
By joining Dentex, we will move forwards again. They are going to be a great help in standardising our protocols and taking care of the management side of the business and together will increase our patient base.
With Dentex, everyone’s singing from the same hymn sheet and that’s what I really like. This partnership is going to really help us as a practice, to excel in what we do on a daily basis.
