I had always wanted to grow my own group of practises and focus more on the managing and mentoring teams – Dentex has given us the support to do something that we wouldn’t otherwise have been able to do.

We always planned to develop a multi-site practice model, and in the short term, the move has released some capital and provided funding for the next stage in our journey.

This genuine partnership has also given us the gift of time, which we are using to fulfil career pathways we may not have otherwise had the chance to pursue.

I always like to reinvent what I do – I’ve moved from general practice to private dentistry and then cosmetic treatments to now high-end cosmetic care – and Dentex provides a collaborative approach with an extensive vehicle of support and finance that has enabled us to grow exponentially.

It is important to me that I continue to have control over my practice and while Dentex offers fantastic and on-going support in compliance, marketing, finance and so on – it is specifically tailored to our business ethos.

My wife and business partner Bhavna has always embraced the challenges that come with motivating a team and she is enjoying this part of her career.

Meanwhile, I can now multitask and pursue the acquisition of practices to come under my umbrella, with time to dedicate to due diligence – another benefit of being part of a larger group.

As for my team, there are always concerns with any change but, in truth, very little has altered for them and I am still leading the team – just with the support in areas they would not have otherwise had.

With Dentex, we enjoy an individual and bespoke policy that reflects our ethos – even within my own group of practices, each site has a unique identity.

I have also created a realisation of an exit but, in the meantime, it’s exciting to have this immediate opportunity to develop a team and grow it.

We didn’t really consider other options, as they were too restricting and generic in their approach and this simply did not excite me – it would also have created a lot of stress and unhappiness.

They didn’t look to foster what was individual or unique about a practice – which, for us, is a vital element of success.

Dentex offers the benefit of being part of a group but that is tailored to my style.
