I had a dental partner for over 30 years. We did not have to have any exit strategy or transition. Everything was going brilliantly well until my partner got ill. The illness was so severe that he had to give up practice.
I then reached a stage where I didn’t want to run a practice, I just want to do dentistry and Dentex came along and made us an offer that went brilliantly well.
I think it’s a great relationship. There are many corporate-type set-ups where you fit in with the décor and the uniforms and the fees and everything else. Dentex leave you to it. I really feel I am still in charge of my practice.
So, my partner is fine and he’s now travelling and sculpting and doing everything he wanted to do in his life and I’m freer to focus on my dentistry.
As far as the team is concerned and the patients are concerned, nothing has changed.
I have had support from Rahul Doshi on training the staff and improving the culture and I think it’s going really well. The Dentex model means we really do work together as partners.
